Question by aspection: Alcohol ban on 5 Dec (King’s Birthday) in Bangkok?
How bout 6 and 7 Dec, any alcohol, any clubs open? 7 Dec supposedly a substitution public holiday for King’s Birthday on 5 Dec.

Buy enough before those dates so that you will be sure you will have enough supplies. Then enjoy yourself alone in your own room!

Alcohol is always banned on the King and the Queens birthday, on election day, and on some other days. Bars and restaurants will not serve alcohol, many bars, clubs and discos are closed

It is (normally) still possible to buy beer in the small shops on the small back streets though. Bring something non-transparant to put the bottles in. Everything is back to normal the next day, substitution days are “alcohol as normal”. The clubs in RCA will not resume operation after midnight, no :)

yes, it is banned on the king’s birthday, however, it is not fully enforced. some places will still serve you alcohol by pouring it into a sprite bottle or something like that. the further away you go from downtown the more likely you are to find places like these. have a look at srinakarin road, there’s many clubs there that have a very grey operation style.

and no, the party will not pick up after midnight, actually quite the opposite, they will start shutting down at that time.
